چکیده

As a result of climate change, the frequency droughts across Europe is showing an increasing trend. The solution to this problem can be various soil cover techniques, which help preserve moisture and biological activity, thereby crop yield. In our research, we examined how different mulch materials affect regulation microbiological activity soil. experiments were set up on two sites: sandy with low organic matter content (Királyhalom, Serbia) coarse loamy higher water capacity (Thessaloniki, Greece). treatments in 4 repetitions pepper plants (Capsicum annuum L.). Daily intensive irrigation wool mulch, agrotextile, straw control was used Serbian site. carried out every 6 days at Greek site, where as follows: plants, without plants. yield measured, content, β-glucosidase active (permanganate oxidizable) carbon soils time sampling 2 weeks. area, showed significantly lower compared other treatments. This presumably due good absorption fact that could not aerate addition irrigation, thus enzyme decreased. All increased untreated control, greatest extent. extensively irrigated soil, plots covered area but also mulch. results measured mulched indicate that, retention, plays major role development yields. effect each mulching method depends degradability material, soil's water-holding capacity.

Soil moisture as a factor affecting the microbiological and biochemical activity of soil

The purpose of this research has been to identify relationships between soil moisture and the growth and development of microorganisms, their diversity and the activity of soil enzymes. Four soils with different texture were analysed. Air-dry soils were watered up to the moisture content corresponding to 20, 40 and 60% of the maximum water capacity (MWC) and subsequently were submitted to deter...

Adsorption of arsenic on soil under different soil moisture conditions

The adsorption study was conducted on three Japanese soils with different soil properties to characterize the adsorption pattern of Arsenic (As). Double tube method was used to find out the effect of soil moisture levels on As adsorption. For this study, besides double tube method, conventional batch method also was used. The As adsorption showed two phase kinetics. An initial and rapid adsorpt...

Effect of Cadmium and Magnesium on Microbiological Activity in Soil

The aim of these experiments was to apply magnesium (50 and 100 mg Mg kg soil) to neutralise the potentially negative effects of soil contamination by cadmium (10, 20, 30 and 40 mg Cd kg soil) on the number of some groups of microorganisms. Another objective was to determine the relationship between the number of these microorganisms relative to yield of yellow lupine and some physicochemical p...

Protective Role of Biochar in Different Soil Moisture for Prevent Soil Loss in Laboratory Conditions

The using of soil conditioners to water and soil conservation is essential and also, the effect study of soil moisture on the soil conservation process and its role on changing runoff, soil erosion and sediment yield is necessary for understanding and simulating the hydrologic response of soil. Therefore, the present study was carried with the aim of investigating the effect of biochar with amo...
